The Last Night

One of our jobs before leaving was to stock up on some more fresh food.  We kept these two ladies pretty busy packing on 2 of these big thermal bags, plus 3 cases of water!

After all that shopping, carrying it all back to the boat, packing it all away, we got kind of hungry!  We walked around town looking for a restaurant and spotted this one down one of the side streets.

The Spill Over Restaurant turned out to be the best restaurant!  Our waiter was the most enthusiastic person who absolutely loved his job.  He went the extra mile waiting on us and making sure we were well taken care of.  The food was also dynamite!

The next night being our last night in the U.S.A. we decided to go to another restaurant called Monty's.   This turned out to be very good also, although Spill Over was still our favorite.

My dinner - fish tacos and corn on the cob.

Upon our return to the boat there were some last minute things to do before heading out to sea.  We took an hour's nap, since none of us would sleep more than 3 hours this night.  We were leaving at 12:30 am to do a night crossing over to the Bahamas.  There would be 2 of us on shift for 3 hours while one slept for 3 hours, and then a rotation.  So, after our nap, putting warm clothing on for the cool night air, putting on our life jackets, starting the engine, and taking the lines off the pilings, alas we set off.

We are doing it!  We made it!  We are here!  Is it really possible?  Read on to find out!
