Oleta River State Park (Cont.)

We have been here in Oleta River State Park for 5 days now.  This is another of my favorite areas (is there a limit to how many favorites I can have?).  There have been a couple of new boats that have anchored here.  Yesterday a couple from one of the new boats came over in their dinghy to say hi and learn the lay of the "land".  We invited them back in the evening for sundowners with us.  As Jimmy Buffet sang..."It's five o'clock somewhere..."  we had our party at 5:00 somewhere in North Florida!  Yay....party time!
Drinks prepped....
Appetizers prepped....

New friends - Louise and Jim!

Scott from our marina back home.  A great help in getting us situated here at this anchorage!

The Captain in role of bartender.

Our friend, Bill, who is sailing with us as we cross to the Bahamas.

The Admiral enjoying everyone's company!

Our next step today is to the marina across the way for another pump out and topping of the water tanks, researching for a marina with a vacant transient slip available and various little projects.

We have to decided to buy a small generator to help with the power issue on board.  Now I can charge my laptop more reliably, we can use the lights at night, etc.  It's amazing how such everyday things are taken for granted until we don't have them, and they don't have anything to do with survival, but........

The cross over won't be until next Wednesday.  No good weather window until then.  There was one last week, but we didn't have Bill then we weren't all ready yet.  So.....until next time!

Fair winds to all!
