Along the docks there are some jelly fish. Our friend, Justin, told me that these are called Casiopia, or upside down jellyfish. It has a nasty sting so keep some meat tenderizer on hand.
Ed and I dared another golf cart ride to try to find the beach called Bardot Beach. It was so named in honor of Bridgette Bardot who used to go to this beach. After going up and around a few times over rocky and holey roads we came to a small road that was very over grown. We parked the cart and walked the rest of the way. We found a small and beautiful beach.
No way could the cart go over this road! |

At the marina at the end of the dock, a guy would make fresh conch salad using all fresh produce! It was neat watching him break open the conch, clean it, and cut it up. He would then cut up the fresh fruit and veggies and put everything together into a delicious salad!
These are the leftover conch shells from all the salads! It takes 1 conch for each salad.
Right next to the Conch Salad place, there was a fish vendor. Every day in the afternoon he would be cleaning his supply of fresh fish. One day he had these gigantic lobster tails. These lobsters are warm water lobsters and the only thing you eat is the tail. One of these tails looked to be over 3 lbs! Another day he had an octopus. It was a learning experience watching him clean everything!
