Little Farmer's Cay

Little Farmer's Cay is an absolutely delightful Island!  It was bought by the 2 sons of a freed slave woman who had come to the island with her 2 sons and a daughter.  The unusual thing about the island is that it was written up that no one other than a relative by blood or marriage could buy property on the island.  This is still in effect today.  There are now about 70+ people living there.

I found the native people absolutely delightful and friendly here.  Everyone everywhere we went were friendly, but I found this island especially so!

Small sign on the ground leading to the Yacht Club.  To eat here you had to make reservations and let them know what you want from their menu when you called in.

The Yacht Club which has wonderful tasting food!

Little Harbor
Sting Rays

At the dock in Little Harbor a fisherman cleans conch and makes delicious conch salad.  He also has trained sea turtles to come to the dock when he bangs on the piling with his hammer.  He feeds them the remains of the conch he doesn't use for his salads.

Other sea creatures come around for the tasty tidbits.

Nurse Shark

The most beautiful (my opinion) Sea Turtle

Blow Fish - the fisherman was trying to get him aggravated so he'd blow up - no luck!

The thrill of my day was when I got to go in the water and feed a turtle!  It was so cool!
