Oriental, NC continued......
This was such a friendly town and very quaint!

This is the inside of The Bean. Loved the idea of sitting, playing checkers and/or chess and drinking a cup of their coffee! We did not take the time to do this. We got our coffee to go. So much to see and do! |
A sample of one of their streets. This is the main street in town. |
Enjoyed a delicious dinner of oysters here. Very yummy! We were also joined by our new friends, Kathy and Lee. They came in after we had ordered to have a late lunch. We were at a table already and had just ordered an early dinner. We shared a nice meal together! |

The town had a dragon theme going on. It was explained to us that years ago they had a festival of some sort with an oriental theme - hence the oriental dragon - and it stuck. There were dragons of all sorts all through the town. There were a lot of dragon type things to purchase in all the stores! Here is a sampling!

This was on a stores building in the front. |
Not sure what kind of oak tree this was, but I loved how pretty the acorn looked! Very delicate! |
This was a statue in the front of one of their office buildings. |
Sunset set photo taken from our boat. Loved the reflection of the moon on the water. | | | | | |

On one of the evenings, I caught some of the rising of the moon.

I never get tired of any of the water fowl. This gull was on the piling on our dock. He/she claimed it and got in a lot of arguments over it. Others kept trying to usurp his/her place, but this one would have none of it! Got pretty loud sometimes! We could get pretty close to it and he/she wouldn't flinch! |
